Henry "Hank" Franssen, age 88 of Cottage Grove, died Friday night May 3, 2013.
Henry Thomas Franssen was born December 31, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Henry & Helen (Hassemer) Franssen. He was raised in St. Paul and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1941. Henry served in the United States Army during World War II as a paratrooper with the 82nd airborne. On May 5, 1951 he was united in marriage with Patricia Flesher at Nativity Church in St. Paul. Hank enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; children Gary (Sandy), Diane Schowalter, Mark (Barb), Tom (Kari); grandchildren Kate, Matt, Christina, Tiffany, Kyle, Eric, Melissa, Danielle, Lauren, Kaci.
Henry was preceded in death by infant son Lawrence; 4 brothers; sister.
Visitation 10-11 AM Wednesday May 15 with Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM at ST. RITA'S CATHOLIC Church, 8694 80th St. S. Cottage Grove. Interment Fort Snelling.
