Henrietta “Lou” Lorraine Bourasa was born January 26, 1939 in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents, Henry and Ruth Luken. She was the second child. She grew up in West St. Paul and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School. She stayed in West St. Paul until she married James Bourasa and they made their home in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Together they raised their four boys, Kevin, Scott, Terry, and Tim. After working at Walgreens for many years as a cosmetologist, she was able to enjoy retirement. She was able to live in the comfort of her home until she passed on March 13, 2022.
Her family was the most important thing to her. Her second love might have been coffee. She enjoyed the six G’s (gardening, gambling, gym, grandkids, great-grandkids, and golf). She took many camping trips with the boys. She was a trooper, living with all men and never shied away from an adventure.
Lou is preceded in death by her loving husband Jim; father, Hank; mother, Ruth; and brother, Bill. She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Sharon Beyer), Scott (Sam), Terry (Renee Allram), and Tim (Lisa); grandchildren, Kyle, Shane (Brea), Heather (Jake), and Hillary (Eric); great-grandchildren, Aiden, Zach, Owen, Tyson, Emerlee, and Maxwell; sisters, Mary Ann and Dots (Greg); brother, Bern (Carolyn); her beloved Persian cat, Mia; and many nieces, nephews, great friends, and neighbors.
