Gordon Patterson

Gordon Patterson, age 83 of Cottage Grove, died Sunday evening March 3, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.

Gordon Sherman Patterson was born March 22, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Ira & Agnes (Mayfield) Patterson. He was raised in St. Paul. On June 4, 1949 he was united in marriage with Clarice Nelson. Gordon served in the United States Navy Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed with the International Milling Company for twenty years, and owned his own carpentry business for many years. Gordy was a well known wood carver.

He is the beloved husband of Clarice; loving father of Debra (Terry) Schilling, Dennis (Theresa), Denise (Steve) Housewright; grandchildren Tina, Christopher, Kelly, Dylan, Jason; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Harold (Madeline), Russell, sister Donna Mae Neuer; many nieces & nephews.

Gordon was preceded in death by a sister, and three brothers.

Visitation 4-8 PM Tuesday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 7676 80TH St. Cottage Grove and 10-11 AM Wednesday at church. Memorial Service 11 AM Wednesday at DISCOVERY CHURCH, 828 Portland Ave, St. Paul Park. Inurnment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
