Glorine Raeker

Raeker, Glorine C. (Ostendorf), Age 81, of Burtrum, Minnesota died March 5, 2012 at her daughters home in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, with her family at her side.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ben and Mary Ostendorf; brothers, Richard (Edna), Gilbert (Monica), Roman and Herbert (Dee); and sisters Mary and Leona (Cecil) Prokop. Survived by husband of nearly 60 years, Eugene; children, Marie (Tom) Raeker-Davis, Deb, Pat (Judy), Brian (Sherry), Barb (Tim) Kodet, Steven (Colleen), and Peter (Shannon). Grandmother to Nicole Murtha; Paul (Laura) and Chris (Rebecca) Doege; Jamie (Renee) Boone, Bill and Kyle Raeker; Kelly Raeker; Leah (Andrew) Nigon and Tyler (Michelle) Kodet; Zachary and Nicholas Raeker; and great-grandmother to Zayda and Axel Boone; Faith, Caleb and baby girl Doege. Also survived by sister Veronica Morgel; and brothers, Clarence and Larry (Phyllis).

Glorine grew up in St. Francis – her family ran the Ostendorf Store -- and worked in Minneapolis after graduating from high school in Upsala. After they married, she and Eugene settled in Freeport where they raised their family. She worked at HEI in Sauk Centre for many years, sang on the church choir, quilted with the ladies in Freeport and was strong in her faith. Loved by all who knew her, she enjoyed time with family and friends, being at their lake home, gardening, German music and crafts.


Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am THURSDAY St. Rita's Church, 8694 80th St. S, Cottage Grove. Visitation 4-8 pm WEDNESDAY at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S, and also one hour prior at church. Interment Ft. Snelling.
