Gloria Ann Meade, 77 of St. Paul Park. Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Loving Wife. Went to be with God on February 3, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, following a short illness.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, St. Pau park, with the Reverend Martin L. Schwartz, officiating. Visitation was from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Saturday at Kok Funeral Home, St. Paul Park. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Gloria Ann Meade was born April 5, 1932 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank A. and Dorothy G. (McComb) Waldera. She was raised in the St. Paul Park area and graduated from Park High School. She was united in marriage to Donald C. Meade on May 26, 1952. The couple made their home in St. Paul Park and she worked in production for the 3M Company, retiring in the early 1990’s after over 35 years with the company.
She was a member of the St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the Women’s Guild. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, fishing, bowling, playing cards and the monthly lunch with the 3M group. She was a devoted caregiver, having cared for man family members over the years. Short in stature, but the cornerstone to a loving, caring, unified family. Mom will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends. Save a place for us so we can be together again. If there was a Hall of Fame for moms, she would be right up front.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald of St. Paul Park. Sons Mike (Deb) of Burnsville, Dale (Susan) of Lafayette, Colorado & Gary (Deb) of Cottage Grove. Grandchildren: Shawn, Jeff, Jen, Ryan, Zak, Mike, A.J. & Kate. Great-Grandson, Davyn, Brother Robert (Carol) Jager of Hastings. Sisters Mary Crowell of Illinois and Shirley Opager of Hastings. She was preceded in death by: her parents, step-father Rueben Jager, brother Francis and sisters Margaret & Beverly and her Grandson Jacob.
