Gloria Machovec

Gloria R. Machovec, age 80 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2017.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove with visitation starting at 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment Evergreen Cemetery in Mahtomedi.

Gloria Ruth Machovec was born October 7, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota to William and Ruth (Lundgren) Lerach. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Monroe High School in 1954. She loved being a mom to her 5 children and made her home a welcoming place…she naturally became everyone's mom.

Gloria enjoyed bowling, cards and going up to Woman Lake near Longville, Minnesota. She became the family photographer at many events and became known as "Happy Snappy." She made great memories with her friends on various bus tours and was often found cheering on her grandchildren in their sporting events.

She is survived by five children Linda, Lori (John) Gustafson, Michael, Lisa Brumm, Mark (Jenny); grandchildren Stephanie, Amber, Alecia, Justin, Melissa, Samantha, Kaitlin, Jessica, Levi; great-grandchildren Alex and Austin; siblings Mary (Ted) Barthelmy, Janet Hurry, William (Roxi) Lerach and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by parents.
