Gloria Irene Carlson

Gloria Irene (Egginger) Carlson, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2023 at Prelude Homes in Woodbury, MN at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 9 days.

Gloria was born May 17,1927 grew up on the west side of St. Paul. She met her forever Carl and they settled on the east side of St. Paul on Jessie Street in 1964. It was there they raised three children in their beautiful colonial home.

Gloria enjoyed many hobbies. When she wasn’t tending to her gardens, she was doing any of the following: painting ceramics, listening or watching Twins/Vikings games, puzzles, crafts, socializing, Rummy 500, Scrabble and walks. The North Shore was a favorite place to visit. Her front porch was her place of solace in the summer afternoons where she would watch the neighborhood and stroll out for conversations with the neighbors.

Gloria’s favorite holiday was Christmas. Her house was fully decorated every year and the kids/grandkids always enjoyed celebrating the holiday there.

She enjoyed many different jobs, with the longest tenure being Buckbee-Mears Co, then shifting to a position at Bridgman’s where she was a waitress. She also enjoyed going to monthly luncheons for MTC Bus Co. where her late husband retired from.

 She is survived by her children Kathy (Bud), Carl (ex Linda) and Linda (Fred); Grandchildren Shannon, Stephanie, Krissy, Chad and Todd; 7 great grandchildren and soon to be 1 great- great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carl, mother Irene, father Mathias, siblings Jack, Richard, Marie and Barb.

A graveside service will be held September 15th, 11:00am at Union Cemetery 2505 Minnehaha Ave E, Maplewood MN 55119. We are requesting you bring flowers from your personal garden or a small bouquet to lay by her grave in honor of her green thumbs.
