Gertrude Narusiewicz

Gertrude S. Narusiewicz 83 of Newport, passed away peacefully on Jan., 15, 2017. Born April 18, 1933 to Henry & Sarah (Kane) Schille in Roseau, MN. Gertrude grew up in the Roseau area until her senior year in high school when her family moved to the Newport area. She graduated from Park High School in 1951. After being set up on a blind date shortly after graduation she married Donald Narusiewicz on Sept. 8, 1951 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. They bought a home in Newport and started a family. Gertrude was a busy mom of six devoting her time and love to them and to her church.
She is survived by loving husband of 65 years Don; children, Stephen (Sherry), Cynthia Wiegert, David (Rhonda), Teresa (Jim) Long, Jerome (Noreen), Jim; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents and five siblings. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Friday, Jan. 20 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (920 Holley Ave. St. Paul Park) with visitation starting at 10 am. Urn burial at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Memorials preferred to HE Hospice or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
