She is survived by her sons, Jack (Lori) Pierce, Rob Pierce, David (Janelle) DuBois, Duane (Sarah) DuBois, her daughter Darla DuBois, many grandchildren, great grandchildren; even some great great grands and sisters, Bobbi (Larry) Hansch and Corrinne Reed.
Georgia and her bird Squirt moved to Browns Valley Health Center in October 2018. She was adored by most of the staff, being the favorite resident to some. She developed and maintained special friendships with some residents whom she referred to as her "cronies". She will forever be remembered for her beautiful and infectious smile. When entering her room, she would be sure to look you in the eye and then smile. Georgia was able to spend her last five years in the peaceful surroundings of Browns Valley and three of those years re-bonding with her eldest daughter Debbie until she passed in 2021.
Georgia was known for her musical talents. She played many instruments and was self taught on all, never learning how to read music. While her kids were young, she would gather them, as well as the neighborhood kids, and would play her guitar and sing from her repertoire of songs. Georgia also made it a point to spend Saturday or Sunday evenings doing something with her kids, even though she was on a limited budget. Georgia brought them to a drive-in movie, roller skating, or to the stock car races, and plenty of times to the Dairy-Queen even bringing the family dog, Poco for his own ice cream cone. Georgia had a heart of gold. She looked after neighborhood kids and friends of her kids. To this day she means alot to these people.
Georgia had some huge accomplishments through the years, one of the biggest being celebrating 50 years of sobriety. She celebrated 50 years on July 22, 2023. Even when she didn't remember every year her daughter Darla would wish her a Happy Anniversary. Another great achievement of hers was to live and work in Phoenix for ten years. Georgia worked at a law firm as a new matter specialist.
Georgia was a special lady and will be missed by so many.
