Age 83, of Cottage Grove
George was welcomed into Heaven on October 7, 2014. Preceded in death by parents George and Anne, brother Jackie and sister Arlis Myers. George will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathy; children Sue (Sean) Devine, Sharon (Rick) Weiman, John (Rita), and Mike (Sue); eight grandchildren and three great granddaughters; sister Joan Heins.
George graduated from Cretin High School, class of 1949. He proudly served with the US Army Reserves for 21 years, and retired from US West after 34 years of service. George was very active in his church, the Elks, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed camping with family and friends.
Visitation 4-8 PM, Monday, October 13, 2014 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Avenue, St. Paul Park. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM, with viewing one hour prior, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. S, Cottage Grove. Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
