Gary was born December 24, 1959 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Donald & Elizabeth (Laszlo) Carlson. He was raised in Cottage Grove, the youngest of six, and graduated from Park High School in 1978. Gary was a beloved football coach for Cottage Grove Athletic Association, Oltman Middle School and Park High School. He loved vacationing and fishing at Shell Lake with his family. He was an avid Vikings fan.
A special thank you to Dr. Zeldenrust at the Mayo Clinic for his work with the rare amyloidosis. He gave Gary strength and inspiration.
Gary is the beloved dad of Shawn, Dana; special lifetime companion of Lynn; brother of Sharon (Gary) Hildebrandt, Ken (Vicky), many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald & Elizabeth, siblings Richard (Kathy), Roxanne (Richard) LaDoucer, Douglas (Kelly).
Visitation 10-11 AM with Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday March 24 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley, St. Paul Park.
