Gale Brenna

February 28, 1935 — March 22, 2008

Gale Wendell Brenna, age 73 of St. Paul Park at home surrounded by family on Saturday evening March 22, 2008.



Gale was the third child (and first son) born February 28, 1935 to Morris & Hilda Brenna. Gale helped out at local farms while attending school in Ulen. He was an avid basketball player.



He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952. While serving in Germany he met Inge Drude. They would travel back to the U.S. where they married in Boise, ID on December 23, 1960.



They welcomed a son, Ricky Lee in Mt. Home, ID on March 9, 1964. After relocation to Dover, DE they had a daughter Sandra Ann on May 18, 1965.



Gale served the U.S. Air Force for 22 A½ years. After his retirement, he moved back to Minnesota to raise their family.



He began working for the U.S. Post Office in 1974. He spent the majority of his time at the St. Paul Post Office. He retired after 20 years of service.



On May 1, 1987 he welcomed Scott Bourasa as his son-in-law. On May 5, 1990 he welcomed Sue Anderson as his daughter-in-law.



On October 16, 1999 Gale became the proud Opa to Aspen Michelle.



To remain active and social Gale worked at the St. Paul park compost from 2000-2007 when he, yet again, retired to recover from heart by-pass. He met many people and enjoyed the job.



He was a huge sports fan! He has always been a Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed his yard and being outside. He enjoyed socializing with friends and family, and he loved his Schlitz beer.



Gale has traveled the world over and seen things we only dream about. He has made and lost some wonderful fiends along the way.



It has been a privilege to be a part of his life!!

Gale was preceded in death by mom and daddy; brother Mike; sister Marilyn.



He is survived by loving wife of 48 years Inge ?Bobby?; on Rick (Sue); daughters Sandy (Scott) Bourasa, Darlene Garsteig; granddaughter Aspen; brother Clair (Bonnie); sisters Barbara, Betty (Roy), Joyce, Cheryl; many nieces, nephews and friends.



Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Ave. St. Paul Park (651-459-2875). Graveside Service 10:45 Friday at Fort Snelling, meeting in assembly area 2.
