Gail Ann Anderson

Gail Anderson, age 81 of Cottage Grove passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 1, 2023.  

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be from 3-6 pm on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove, MN.

Gail was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and lived there until she joined the army as a nurse.  It was at Aberdeen Proving Ground that she met and married her husband. After leaving the service they moved to Minnesota to raise their family.

Gail spent all of her working career as a nurse.  She worked at various hospitals in the area for a few years.  The majority of her working years were spent as a school nurse in the South Washington County school system. working there for 17 years.  She was a nurse at Park High School and at Cottage Grove Elementary.  Gail was the first school nurse at Middleton Elementary School in Woodbury where she worked for over 12 years, seeing the kids from her first year graduate from high school.

She also worked with the Special Olympics program as a roller skating coach and instructor.  She truly loved working with the kids to help them learn and grow.

Gail is survived by her husband Charles; children Larry, Michael (Lee Yeonji), Stephanie (Andrew), and Adam (Christi); 4 grandchildren Devin, Caleb, Dohyup, and Soyea; and siblings David (Donna) Celuzza, Joan Celuzza, Nancy (Arthur) Pierce, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Sarah Celuzza.  

Memorials are preferred to the family.
