Francis H. Carpenter
Formerly of St. Paul and St. Paul Park.
At the age of 98, Francis passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 13th at the Woodbury Health Care Center in Woodbury, MN.
Born August 2, 1918 on a family farm in Oakwood Township (Plainview), MN, he was the 3rd of 11 children born to G. Aiden and Bertha (Wempner) Carpenter. Preceded in death by parents; wife Kay; brothers, George, Joseph, Pat, Leo, Paul and Jim; sister, Julia (Judy) Pothen. Survived by son Richard and daughter Penny (Tom) Ingemann; grandchildren, Patti (Manson) Lambright, Scott Carpenter, Brad (Melissa) Ingemann, and Chris Ingemann; great grandchildren, Paige, Chase, Makayla, Austin, Manny and Brady. Also survived by sisters Nora Meulners, Margaret (Roy) Erwin, and brother Ozzie (Joan) Carpenter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was a heavy equipment operator and lifelong member (since 1946) of the IUOE Local 49, and a member for many years of the American Legion Richard Dingle Post 98 in St. Paul Park.
Francis was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in Guam.
The family is very grateful for dad's comfort and loving care from Sarah and all the nurses and caregivers at the Woodbury Health Care Center/Memory Care unit. Also to HealthEast Hospice for their compassion and support as well.

To respect his wishes, a small service and interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 22nd at 12:30 p.m., Assembly Area #3, Minneapolis, MN.
