Fawn Allen

Fawn Allen, age 58 of Inver Grove Heights, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ALS on May 31, 2015 at The Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be 6:00 pm, June 4, 2015 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Avenue, Inver Grove Heights with visitation for one hour prior. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Fawn Marie Allen was born May 17, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to William and Marvel (Bittner) Allen. She grew up in River Falls, Wisconsin, where she graduated from high school in 1976. She received further education at the U of W River Falls and went on to several jobs before joining Crum and Forster commercial insurance company in 1984 as an administrative assistant among many other positions. In 1987, Fawn met the love of her life and best friend Don Foster, and the two were later married in 1993 in St. Paul. Most recently, she served in the Risk Management Department of CHS Incorporated where she was employed for the past 14 years until her illness would no longer allow.

Fawn was a person of deep faith who had an infectious smile and a genuine love for people. She maintained a positive attitude even when facing the debilitating effects of ALS. Fawn loved Christmas, and if she could have had it her way, it would be celebrated all year long. She enjoyed creating and working with crafts, making unique Halloween costumes and organizing everything "Teddy Bear" around the house. Her teddy bears were her "kids" and her Christmas tree was adorned with 200-300 unique bears, some she made, some antiques but all bears. She and Don enjoyed their vacations together traveling on their Gold Wing motorcycle through all 48 states and the contiguous Canadian provinces. Fawn will be deeply missed by her family and friends whom she dearly loved.

Fawn is survived by her husband, Don; brothers, Branch, Knox and John Allen; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. She is preceded in death by her parents.
