Mary "Faith" Ronkowski, age 82, of Cottage Grove passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S. Cottage Grove. Memorial Service will be 11 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th Street S., Cottage Grove with a one-hour visitation prior to service at the church. Interment to follow service at Cottage Grove Cemetery.
Faith was born in the Lake Phalen neighborhood in St. Paul on October 26, 1941, to Anthony and Helen (Flynn) Eggert. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1959. Faith met the love of her life, Fred Ronkowski, and they were married in December of 1959. They lived in St. Paul for a few years before moving to Cottage Grove in 1962. She served as a secretary at the Minnesota State Capital and subsequently worked as an office manager at a dental office for over 20 years. In later years, she and Fred could be found hosting model home tours in the area.
Faith was an active longtime member of the Church of St. Rita. She and Fred enjoyed being adventurous together which compelled their love for traveling to various locations. Faith enjoyed watching classic movies, reading a good book, golfing, and spending time in the garden. She especially loved to sing and listen to music. Faith adored her family time, especially with grandchildren holding a special place in her life. Faith had a way of making people feel loved, she will be deeply missed.
Faith is survived by her daughters Rose Powell, Denise (Tim) Jass, Michele Ronkowski, Angela (Dan) Vaith; grandchildren Theresa Otterness, Eric Otterness, Zachary Powell, Jeremy (Leanna) Jass, Monica Vaith, and Bradley Vaith; great-grandchild Jayden Jass; brother Anthony "Jack" (Rita) Eggert; as well as nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred; son-in-law Danny Lutz; and brother Tom (Jean) Eggert.
