Ethel Pauline Leavens was born May 14, 1923 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Benjamin & Lillian (Genthe) Leavens. She was raised in Milwaukee and attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee. She served in the United States Army as a nurse during World War II; and attained the rank of major. Her passion in life was her pet cats Molly & Alex. She volunteered at Regina Medical Center in Hastings.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday at ST. RITA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 8694 80TH St. Cottage Grove. Interment in Sturgeon Bay, WI. Vistation 10-11 AM Monday at church.
