Ethel Johnston

Ethel Johnston, age 96, a lifetime Newport resident died Saturday evening March 22, 2014 at Woodbury Health Care Center.

Ethel Doris was born July 28, 1917 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Albert & Amanda (Olson) Schilling. She was raised in Newport and graduated from Park High School. Ethel was united in marriage with Lloyd Freemont Johnson. She worked many years at Ashland Oil. Ethel enjoyed gardening, baking and animals. She will be remembered as a remarkable lady who loved Newport.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; parents Albert & Amanda; and sister Phyllis Schilling.

She is survived by her adopted family Liz Rottman, Jamey (Carolyn) Rottman, Joseph (Michelle) Rottman, Jeanne (Rich) Junker & their families.

Visitation 10-11 am with Funeral Service 11 AM Saturday (3/29) at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Ave. St. Paul Park. Interment Newport Cemetery.
