Erik Putzier
April 24, 1974 — September 29, 2017
Erik Putzier, 43 of West St. Paul, passed away at his home on Friday, September 29, 2017 after a long battle with depression.
A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S, Cottage Grove, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
He was born on April 24, 1974 in Hutchinson, Minnesota, to Eugene and Cheryl (Mogard) Putzier. Erik moved with his family to Cynthiana, Kentucky and then to Cottage Grove in 1987 where Erik graduated from Park High School in 1992. During his high school career, he participated in football, wrestling and baseball. After graduation he worked in the auto parts business and most recently was an assistant manager at Walgreen’s.
Erik had a passion for motorcycle racing as he competed at the Brainerd International Raceway for several years. He also enjoyed deer hunting until his health began to decline. He was especially fond of spending time with his daughter, Kaitlyn.
Erik is survived by his daughter Kaitlyn; parents, Cheryl and Gene Putzier; sister Kelli Albon; nephews, Adam and Chase; grandmother, LuVerne Putzier; and longtime friend, Kerri Koch.
