Elizabeth Lawton

Elizabeth was born in New Jersey and raised in New York City. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Douglass College. She met and married Frederick Lawton in Ridgewood, New Jersey in 1954. They moved to Chambersburg, PA where he taught before moving to Washington DC so he could complete foreign service schooling. They lived in Monterrey, Mexico; Naples, Italy; and Hargeisa, Somalia. They returned to Bethesda, Maryland where Frederick worked for the state department. Elizabeth graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland with a degree in library science. After she retired from a career in library science they moved to Cape Cod.Preceded in death by husband Frederick. Beloved mother of Jocelyn (Eric) Lawton-Johnson, Douglas; grandchildren Joshua & Nicholas; cousins Susie (Al) Nittolo, Martin (Carol) Frahme.
