Elizabeth Gaarder

Age 70, of Cottage Grove passed away on December 18, 2006 at United Hospital in Saint Paul, MN. Elizabeth was born and raised in Pine Island, Minnesota graduating from High School in Pine Island before joining the United States Air Force in 1955. Elizabeth was united in marriage with Paul on October 26, 1956 in Decorah, Iowa. In 1962 Paul and Elizabeth moved to Cottage Grove and Elizabeth went to the University of Minnesota earning her B.A. and Masters degree's in counseling. She then went to work for the State of Minnesota in 1969 as a Tax Accountant and retired in 1998.



Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Edwin & Mildred (Frederick) Yennie. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Paul. Her children Paul of Saint Paul Park, Philip (Vicki) of Apple Valley, Peter (Jill) of Inver Grove Heights, Thomas (Julia) of Saint Paul, Hope (Michael) Olson of Bismarck, North Dakota. Her Step-father Charles Frederick; grandchildren Matthew, Jaimi, Amanda, Joel, Jonathan, Alyssa, Karl, Charles, Christopher, and Madison; siblings Evon (Pete) Bushman, Colin ( Karen) Yennie, Kert (Cheri) Yennie.
