86 of Cottage Grove, peacefully passed away surrounded by his daughters on May 22, 2016.
Edward was the second born to Edmond & Mae (Whitaker)on March 23, 1930. He grew up in Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, Michigan. After graduating from High School Edward served his Country in the US Army, where he met Liliana Scarcelli while stationed in Italy. They married on October 31, 1952 in Trieste, Italy.
Edward and Liliana moved to Cottage Grove in 1958 where they raised four daughters. Edward worked for 3M, was very active in the Masonic Lodge in St. Paul Park, enjoyed singing in his church choir. He also spent some of his free time golfing and bowling. He cherished being a grandpa and great grandpa.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Liliana; daughters Sandi (Steve) Ake, Cindy (Bill) Silkett, Debby (Scott) Langevin, Karen (Mike) Drobac; grandchildren Stephanie, Brian (Maureen), Michael (Suzy), Amy (Lars), Adriana, Cole; great grandchildren Liliana, Padraig, Samuel; other family & friends. Preceded in death by sister Deloris Knox. Memorial service 10am Friday, May 27 at Community United Church of Christ (1145 Summit Ave. St. Paul Park) with a visitation starting at 9:30. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
