Edna Connolly

Edna (Schultz) Connolly, age 97, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2018 at Woodland Hills Specialty Care in Hudson, WI.

Edna was born March 30, 1921 in St. Paul to Edward and Anna (Anderson) Schultz.  She graduated with honors from Johnson Sr. High in 1938 and worked as a test administrator at 3M after high school.    She was married to James Connolly and they later moved to Newport in 1949 where they built and managed the Black Hawk Motel for 49 years.   She was active for many years with the Park-Port Lioness Club where she served as president in 1982.  She was also involved with the St. Croix Valley Kennel Club and Italian Greyhound Club of America.

She is preceded in death by husband James; son James “Beaner”; brother Len and granddaughter Julie.  Edna is survived by her sister, Adelaide (Sue) Harmon of CA; sister-in-law Marvel Schultz; daughters Mary Ann Hovde, Jane (Jeff) Burgoyne, Marlene (Dan) Heschke; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Private services have been held.
