Dr. Aggrey Joel Otieno

It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of my beloved, peaceful and respectful husband, Dr. Aggrey Joel Otieno, age 80, on October 1, 2024. He was a loving and very caring father of our three children. 

Dr. Aggrey Otieno was born and grew up in Kenya but all of his education was in the United States. The majority of his career was working as an Administrator at Kenyatta University. He also taught at the American International University in Nairobi. Most recently, he came as a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota.

He is survived by wife Joyce; daughters Vera and Tina; sisters Jane, Mary; six nephews and nine nieces. He is preceded in death by and joins his son Tony; parents Agripa and Diana and sister Joyce. His charm, smile and knowledge will be forever missed.

Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S.; Cottage Grove, MN with a visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will take place after service at Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, MN with a luncheon to follow interment.
