of Hammond, Wisconsin, formerly of St. Paul Park, Minnesota passed away peacefully at home early Thursday morning, April 5, 2007 after a courageous five-year battle with Amyloidosis. Doug fought to live life to the fullest until the very end and is an inspiration to us all.
Douglas Scott Carlson was born June 3, 1958 in St. Paul the son of Donald & Elizabeth (Laszlo) Carlson. He was raised in Cottage Grove. Doug married Kelly Jean Kahl on June 7, 1986 at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Doug worked for the City of Cottage Grove and retired after 20 years of service in 2003. Doug served as a member of the Cottage Grove and St. Paul Park Fire Departments for 15 years. He enjoyed time with family hunting, fishing, and time spent at his sister's cabin in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. Doug especially cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
Beloved husband of Kelly; loving father of Michael (Aimee) Carlson of Littleton, Colorado, Chad of Montecito, California, Noah of Hammond, Wisconsin; brother of Richard (Kathy) of North St. Paul, Minnesota, Sharon (Gary) Hildebrandt of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kenneth of Nebraska, Minnesota, Roxanne (Richard) LaDoucer of Maplewood, Minnesota, Gary of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; son-in-law of Gary & Jeanne Kahl of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin; brother-in-law of Kristi (Darin) Gilbertson of Amery, Wisconsin, Kerri Kahl of Menomonie, Wisconsin; grandson-in-law of Dorothy Eckert of Amery, Wisconsin; loving uncle of many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by parents Donald & Elizabeth.
Funeral Service 11 AM Tuesday April 10 at ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7000 Hinton Ave. S. Cottage Grove. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Monday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 7676 80TH St. S. Cottage Grove (651-459-2875) and 10-11 AM Tues. at church.
