Dorothea Ehlenz

Dorothea "Dottie" Ehlenz (nee Adler), age 98 of Cottage Grove, died Saturday May 3, 2014.

Dorothea Josephine was born August 2, 1915 in Saint Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Emanuel & Cecelia (Rice) Adler. She was raised in St. Paul and graduated from Central High School. She was united in marriage with Andrew John Ehlenz in 1950. Dottie volunteered at Friends in Need Food Shelf. She loved flowers and gardening. Dottie worked at voting polls. She was employed as a secretary in District 833 school from 1964 until 1981, and was instrumental in starting the secretary's retirement luncheons in the district.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her husband Andrew; infant son Mark; and brothers Harold & Otto.

She is survived by her son Todd (Marie); grandsons Michael (Kelly), Brandon; cousin Jack Adler; nieces & nephews.
