Doreen Zacharias

Doreen Zacharias, 91 of Cottage Grove passed away peacefully with her family by her side November 17, 2023.

Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, November 21, 2023 with visitation beginning at 12 pm at All Saints Lutheran Church 8100 Belden Blvd.; Cottage Grove, MN. Luncheon following service.

Doreen was born September 12, 1932 of the parents Cecil and Winnifred Draper in Winnipeg, Canada. She graduated from St. James High School and attended a year of business school. Doreen was united in marriage to Edward Zacharias on September 12, 1963 in Winnipeg. In 1969 they moved to Cottage Grove. She worked as a secretary and nursing assistant part time and treasured being a stay at home Mom. She and Edward retired in their later years and moved to Sturgeon Lake. They enjoyed traveling south for the winters in their motorhome. Through the years she always made time to stay involved in church activities. Doreen was known as a compassionate woman who loved visiting with family and friends. She was able to spend the last seven years back in Cottage Grove living independently at Norris Square.

Doreen is survived by her children Daniel, Curtis (Chris), Rod (Annette); son in law Harry "Butch" Davis; 13 grandchildren Jess, Meghan, Ryan, Connor, Nick, Ryan, Nick, Matthew, Nichole, Michael, Beau, Wesley and Shane; 12 great grandchildren Zachary, Skylar, Hazel, Landen, Ethan, Colton, Preston, Kinsley, McKenzie, Michael, Malena and Eva Grace; and sister-in-law Esther Harris.

She is preceded in death by parents; husband Edward; daughter Diana Spiess and brother Peter Draper.
