Donna Wolden

Donna R. Wolden, age 78 of Cottage Grove, passed away May 23, 2017 at the Augustana Care Center in Hastings.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00 am, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at The Church of St. Rita 8694 – 80th Street S, Cottage Grove. Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 -80th Street S, Cottage Grove and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Donna Ruth Wolden was born November 4, 1938 in Fargo, North Dakota to Claude and Erma (Lane) Graves. She grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota where she graduated from high school in 1957. She moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a nanny and met Richard A. Wolden. They were married on March 29, 1958 in Detroit Lakes. They lived in Northfield for a short time until Richard was drafted into the US Army. They made their home in Detroit Lakes for a few years before moving to Cottage Grove in 1971. She worked for JcPenney in West St. Paul for many years as a retail manager until retiring for medical reasons in 1992.

Donna enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, golfing, playing cards and watching the Minnesota Twins. With Richard's career as a truck driver, she managed the household affairs efficiently and cherished the time with her children. She was a woman of strong faith and is now eternally resting with God.

Donna is survived by husband of 59 years Richard; daughter Kristie (Rich) Beaudet; son Michael Wolden; granddaughter Amanda (Adam) Bakken; great-grandsons Samuel and Owen; brother Donald (Cheryl) Graves; sister Kathy Brolin; "adopted daughter" Melissa Aus. She is preceded by her parents; sisters Charlotte Monson and Eleanor Aus as well as two infant siblings.
