Donna Mae Sauer

Donna Mae Sauer (Johnson) died on May 14, 2023 in Hastings, Minnesota beloved wife of Fred Sauer and daughter of Raymond and Gladys Johnson (Anderson).  Born on the 29 of April 1940, as a twin in Albert Lea, Minnesota, grew up in Minneapolis and attended Pratt Elementary and Johnson High Schools. She married Thomas Flynn and they had four children.

On 15 September 1978 she met and married Fred Sauer, the love of her life for 44 years. She loved fashion, decorating, shopping and listening to Elvis songs lately. She was enthusiastic and eager about collecting dolls, and attended many doll shows with her sister-in-law Janice.  She also collected Armani statues and even attended a private showing where she met the artist.

Donna enjoyed working at Bridgeport Interiors in Hastings until 2001. She treasured time spent with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and her joyful personality and her ability to make you laugh. We are grateful for the years spent with her. She was one in a million. She will definitely be missed by all.

Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Gladys Johnson, sister Beverly (Clayton) Haskell, brothers Raymond L. (Darlene) Johnson and Roger E. Johnson, and twin sister just 3 days old Delores Fay Johnson, son David Arthur Flynn, and ex-husband Thomas Flynn.

Survived by husband Fred Sauer, daughter Cheryl (Jay) Carlson, sons Daniel Flynn and Michael Flynn, and grandson Jordan (Kaily) Hagen. Other family members close to her were her nieces Karen, Raelyne, and Ann Marie in addition to her close cousins of Robert Anderson, Berdette Anderson and Marietta Bangs.
