Donald J. White, 89, of Saint Paul Park. Died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at the Woodlyn Heights Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Deloris L. White, 87, of Saint Paul Park. Died Thursday, December 22, 2005, at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings following a short illness.
Memorial service for Donald & Deloris White will be held together at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Pullman Avenue, Saint Paul Park, with the Reverend Gary Ritner, officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Newport Cemetery, Newport.
Deloris L. White was born October 24, 1918 in Viborg, South Dakota, the daughter of Thorvald and Eneada Morrison. Donald J. White was born November 28, 1916 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Harold C. and Alice (Johnson) White. He was raised and educated in the Sioux City area. The couple was united in marriage on October 6, 1939. They made their home in Saint Paul Park where Deloris was a homemaker and Don worked as a mechanic for E. L. Murphy Trucking Co. for over 35 years, retiring in the late 1970?s. Donald was a Jack of All Trades, a problem solver, enjoyed fishing, woodworking and loved to talk with people. In retirement the couple enjoyed traveling, week-ends at the cabin, gardening and time with family.
They are preceded in death by their sons, Paul and infant son, Donald; and Donald by six siblings. They are survived by their daughters, Alice (Jerry) Gamer and Mary White (Bob Brost); grandchildren; Doug (Jodi), Don (Jeanne), Dennis, Wendy (Greg), Donna (Mike), and Kenny (Katie); great grandchildren Angela, Alicia, Alley, A.J., Regina, Katrina, Sarah, Vanessa, Nicole, Vicki, Kevin, Kayla, Klair; great-great-grandson Daemon and many other family and friends.
