Donald Leslie

April 5, 1945 — September 9, 2015

Donald "Don" Leslie of Cottage Grove, age 70 died unexpectedly on September 9, 2015. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 24 from 5-8 PM including a Masonic Service at 7 PM at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S. Cottage Grove). The funeral service for Don will be Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church (8500 Hillside Trail S. Cottage Grove). Interment will be at Nora Cemetery, Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Don was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Charles and Ruth Leslie. He graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1963 and then proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. After his military service, he married Merikay Hein in Rice Lake, Wisconsin in 1969. Don attended the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire and graduated in 1973. He joined 3M shortly after and worked there until retirement in 2002.

Don was actively involved in a number of volunteer organizations within the local community. He provided significant contributions to the Cottage Grove Athletic Association as well as served in leadership roles for both the Accacia Masonic Lodge and Osman Shrine. Don also enjoyed spending time at Zion Lutheran Church and participating with the Men's Club. Don is survived by Merikay, his loving wife of 46 years. His son Jason and his wife Briehan; granddaughter Lauren; siblings Michael, and Thomas; sisters in law Peggy (John) Kromm, Clara (Bruce) Kuhne, Rose (Dave) Hobson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
