Donald "Don" G. Geislinger

Donald "Don" G. Geislinger, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in his residence at Norris Square on Wednesday December 6, 2023. He was born on December 22, 1937, in Watkins, Minnesota to Leo and Mildred Geislinger. He was the eldest of eight children. 

Don began life growing up on the family farm in Watkins, MN and eventually buying his first and forever home in Cottage Grove, MN.  He worked as a machinist for many years, later making a career change to bus driver for Metro Transit (MT).  He loved being a bus driver and the social interaction with his passengers.  He enjoyed putting his driving skills to the test by participating in bus rodeo competitions.  

Don loved working on cars and home improvement projects. He was always willing to assist and provided great wisdom and guidance on how to solve difficult problems during the project. Don enjoyed going to the MN State Fair, car shows, and tractor pulls.  Don enjoyed playing card games and loved to act unsure of the game rules as he would go out and chuckle. Don will surely be missed at family gatherings. 

Don is preceded in death by his wife, Marlois; son, James Geislinger; and parents, Leo and Mildred Geislinger. Don is survived by his four children, Paul (Julita) Geislinger, Michelle (Joseph) Janus, David Geislinger, and Debra (Duane) Sanovia; nine grandchildren, Victor (Emily) Geislinger, Max Geislinger, Joey Janus, Lauren (Andrew) McHugh, Amy (Seth) Royce, Maddie Geislinger, Alexa Sanovia, Dominic Sanovia, and Jaylin Sanovia; and four great grandchildren, Chace Janus, Rory Geislinger, Corey Geislinger, and Orion Royce; and seven siblings, Marcelene Nistler, Louis Geislinger, William (Diane) Geislinger, Connie Reichert, Dwight (Karen) Geislinger, Eloise (Michael) Hanley, and Sharon (Roger) Burg.  

Funeral Service 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Kok Funeral Home 7676 80th Street South, Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Burial will follow at Thomas Aquinas Parish Cemetery, St. Paul Park, MN.
