Diane Sherman

July 2, 1937 — October 12, 2016

Diane A. Sherman, age 79 of St. Paul Park, passed away October 12, 2016 at Woodwinds Health Campus in Woodbury.

Funeral service will be 4:00 pm Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 -80th Street S., Cottage Grove with visitation starting at 1 pm until the time of service. Private interment Riverview Cemetery, West St. Paul.

Diane Ardelle Sherman was born July 2, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Fred and Susan (Collet) Youness. She grew up in Deer Park, Wisconsin and St. Paul and graduated from Park High School in 1955. Diane worked at Taystee Bread as a switchboard operator and also Anchor Electric for a short time. Diane was married on May 3, 1958 to Richard Sherman at Faith Lutheran in St. Paul. They lived in Circle Pines and Tanners Lake before settling in St. Paul Park. Diane worked for 3M in public relations and as her children grew up, she took time off to devote to them. She resumed her employment at 3M until she retired in 2002, just prior to Richard's passing.

Diane was active at the food shelf in St. Paul Park and also at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in North St. Paul. She loved collecting cardinals, doing ceramics and word searches. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Diane is survived by her children, Pam and Scott (Deb); grandchildren Christina Schmitz, Kim, Shelly (Matt), Mike (Sarah), Lynne (BJ); great-grandchildren Wes, Kambrie, Jaeden, RJ, Lucas, Tyler, Marik and Ever. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard and parents, Fred and Susan Youness.
