Denita Stein

Denita Stein, age 61 of Inver Grove Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 23, 2017.
Visitation will be held on Saturday , December 30, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove with the service starting at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at the Newport Cemetery.
Denita Kay Stein was born February 5, 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Eric and Norma (Knutson) Johnson. She grew up in St. Paul and St. Paul Park where she graduated from Park High School in 1974. Following graduation, Denita started working for the State of Minnesota for the Department of Labor and Industry where she was employed for 43 years. Denita was married to Mike Stein on May 11, 1991 in Cottage Grove at All Saint’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, relaxing in the whirlpool and taking care of her St. Bernard, Sarge. Denita took on the role of navigator on long motorcycle trips with Mike and her brother and sister-in-law.
She is preceded in death by her father Eric Johnson. Denita is survived by her loving husband of 26 years Mike; mother Norma Johnson; sister Vicki (Greg) Ahlbom; brother Eric III (Jocelyn) Johnson; nephew Travis (Angie) Ahlbom as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
