Delores "Dee" Senn

Delores “Dee” (Bonk) Senn, age 87 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2018.

Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Grace of God Lutheran Church, 420 Hayward Ave. N, Oakdale.  Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, October 5, 2018 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S., Cottage Grove and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.  Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery.  The family requested memorials in lieu of flowers to Gideons International, The Washington South Camp, PO Box 771, Lakeland, MN 55043-0771.

Delores Marjorie Bonk was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota at the family’s home on November 18, 1930 to George and Cecil Bonk.  The family moved to Easton where she attended a one room country school and later graduated from Delavan High School in 1948.  As a young girl, Dee got to know Dale Senn and through the years they developed a love for each other.  They were married November 23, 1950 in Norfolk, Virginia while Dale was stationed in the Navy.  They returned to Minnesota and lived in Easton, Owatonna, and then relocated to Duluth.  They made Cottage Grove their home in 1968 where she worked at the high school as the “lunch lady”.  She loved knitting all kinds of things including Christmas stockings, baby sweaters, afghans and washcloths.  Dee was known for her baking skills, her amazing sugar cookies and delicious banana bread.

They made friends easily where ever they lived and continued to keep in contact with them through the years.  Dee was a proud supporter of Gideon’s International and took every opportunity to share God’s Word.  Dee loved spending time outside on the porch watching her dogs.  She adored her family and left an amazing legacy of love to each one.

Dee is preceded in death by her husband Dale, sister Donna Schaible and parents George and Cecil Bonk.  She is survived by her children Doug (JoAnn) Senn, Dennis (Michael Warman), Dawn (David Rewey) Senn and Darla (Richard Constable Jr.) Senn, Greg (Dee) Aguilar; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Denise (Harold) Tjelle.
