Delores Omer

Delores M. Omer, age 91 of Newport, passed away August 26, 2021.

Funeral will be 11 am, Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 15th Avenue, Newport, with visitation one hour prior.  Interment Newport Cemetery.

Delores Marie (Okeson) Omer, was born November 25, 1929 in Eagle Bend, Minnesota to Victor and Alice Okeson.  Early in her life, she was blessed with the birth of her son Marvin and also took a position at Univac where she was assigned to various production projects.  In her free time, Delores liked to crochet, bake and spend time in the garden.  She was married to Robert Omer on July 20, 1968 and through the years they enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling to various places.  She loved her family and her heart was especially drawn to her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert; parents Victor and Alice, siblings Melvin, Delmer and Bruce Okeson and Dorothy Klinger.  She is survived by her son Marvin (Denise) Turner; grandchildren Matthew Turner and Nicole (Andrew) Pickering; great-grandchildren Reignie (Charles) Jahnke, Tayler Turner and Teahra Turner, Alisha Pickering and Corrine Pickering; 4 great-great grandsons Noah, Abel, Thomas and Sovereign; sister Lois Cissel and brother Alfred (Jeanne) Okeson.
