DeLois Miller

DeLois Jane Miller, age 91, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, formerly of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 after receiving a beautiful bouquet of flowers on Valentine’s Day from her prayer group. She was born in Red Wing, Minnesota on April 4, 1930 to parents, Earl and Viola Books. She had three brothers, George, Glenn, and Walter; and one sister, AltaMae. After graduating from Ellsworth High School in 1948, she became employed at the Red Wing Bell Telephone Company as a long-distance operator for several years. Later she joined the State Farm Insurance Company as a legal secretary in the Wisconsin liability claims department and worked there for eleven years. After moving to St. Paul, Minnesota she joined the 3M Company working as a key puncher and retired after 24 years. Dee met her husband Wallace “Wally” of Cottage Grove, Minnesota at one of the several ballroom dances in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, which they often enjoyed for entertainment. They were united in marriage on July 17, 1954, at First Methodist Church in Red Wing, Minnesota and later together had two daughters, Brenda and Renee. Wally passed away on November 23, 2013. Dee will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

DeLois is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years; parents; three brothers; one sister; and son-in-law, Mike Sorenson. She is survived by daughters, Brenda and Renee; grandchildren, Krystal (Brandon), David (Sophie), and Jacqueline (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Christian, Trevor, Carter, and Clara; and other extended family and friends.

Funeral Service 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Friday, February 25, 2022 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016. Interment will follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, MN.
