David Pedar Jensen, age 70, of Minneapolis, passed away listening to music with his daughter Amy on Friday, March 31st after many long years of struggling with "early onset" Alzheimer's disease.
Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Jeanne Jensen (Hustad) and Mickey and Bobby Pederson.
David was a prolific and talented artist who brought beauty through art to all who shared in his life. He was an accomplished classical guitarist with a beautiful tenor singing voice, a gifted pottery maker and an exquisite Sumie painter. He had a long artistic history with the Edina Art Center and Ming Chiao of Minnesota. David was a 1965 graduate of Washburn High School. After High School he was drafted into the Army and spent a year in Vietnam, where he received the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism. David worked for decades installing telephone systems for Northwestern Bell Telephone and teaching guitar. He talked a great deal about his favorite yearly trips to Ocracoke Island in North Carolina. Those were memories that brought him a great deal of happiness.
He is survived by his former spouse Suzanne Kramer and their only daughter Amy Suzanne Bounds (Jensen) husband Larry and two very loved grandchildren, Colin Jensen and Joseph Bounds; his brother Dick Jensen, (Patricia); sister Sara Pederson; nephews and niece; and his longtime friend Jeanette Bailey.
