David Hulbert

David Hulbert, age 80 of St. Paul Park, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2021.

David A. Hulbert was born March 5, 1941 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Earl “Bud” and Lorna “Chloe” Hulbert.  He graduated from Harding High School and entered active duty in the United States Army in 1963. Following his military service, David took a position as a clerk at the US Post Office in St. Paul.  It was there that he met Sharon Bryant and they were united in marriage in 1970.  They lived in West Saint Paul and Cottage Grove before making their home in St. Paul Park.  After he retired from the post office, he spent the next chapter of his life enjoying his retirement years.  He loved exploring and being on the go and was often found attending a variety of events in the Twin Cities including music festivals or local fairs and events.  David prided himself as an above average news consumer and enjoyed starting (and ending) his day with his coffee and newspaper.  He enjoyed collecting vintage postcards, exploring history and talking about politics. In his younger years he enjoyed gardening.

David is survived by his children, David and Melinda.  He is preceded in death by his wife Sharon; parents and brother Alex.

Memorial service and time of memory sharing will be 2 PM, Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park. Visitation will began at noon until the time of service.  Burial at Fort Snelling will be held at a later date.
