David was a 30+ year resident of Newport, known and loved by many; especially his grandchildren who knew him as their beloved Papa. He enjoyed spending his time gardening, organizing his garage, anything to do with tractors and loved to read Louis L'Amour. David was a retired Marble Mason after 32 years of dedication to his work.
He is survived by wife of 10 years Mary; children Nikki (Tom) LaBore, Matt (Stacy), Mike, Dan, Erin (Eric) Arellano, Mandi Senty; grandchildren Austin, Audrey, Evelyn, Ahna, Tommy, Anthony, Josh, Ainsley; parents Bud & Jean; siblings Jerry (Julie), Tim (Kathy), Kathy (Mike) Cherry, Laurie, Scott (Laura); many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by granddaughter Madison. Funeral service 11am Monday, Feb 15 at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ (7008 Lamar Ave S.) with visitation 2-5 Sunday at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S.)and 1 hour prior to service at church. Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery.
