David Bishop

David Daniel Bishop

September 26, 1966 ~ November 21, 2021 (age 55) of Saint Paul Park, MN passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home.

Dave is survived by his parents; Dan & Judy Bishop; sister, Bonnie DeKoster; and daughter, Jonnice Bishop (fiancé, Tony) and his grandchildren, Lucas 11, Asher 3, and Laynee Jo 7 months; step daughter, Alisha (daughter of his first wife, Jannette).

Dave grew up in St. Paul Park, MN & is a 1985 graduate of Park Senior HS in Cottage Grove, MN. Dave enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp right after high school. Dave had a scholarship to UW River Falls in Wisconsin for art. He was a swimmer, pianist, painter, craftsman, mechanic, fisherman, chief etc… there wasn’t much Dave couldn’t do.

Dave had a love of motorcycles & cars and you would often find him wrenching away on a old classic car or motorcycle. If he wasn’t in the garage, he was sitting out by the bonfire enjoying a beer with friends, at the local pub, with his loved ones or on his bike cruising with friends or his daughter Jonnice who also shares his love of anything Harley Davidson.

If you gave Dave a pen and paper, he could draw almost anything. Give him a paintbrush and he would paint you the most beautiful thing you laid your eyes on. If he had a blank wall, he made it his own. Oh, the beautiful art he left behind that has been, and will be cherished by so many for many years to come.

Give him a hammer, screw driver, and wrench and the sky was the limit. Dave was so very talented. When asked, he would help anyone with almost anything. Dave even left art school to help his best friend, Sean Kiger who he worked with for over 20 years as a mechanic. He loved Sean and they were pretty much brothers and he was big part of Sean’s life and sons lives as well.

Dave was married to Jennifer (Letourneau) and they remained friends after their divorce! He was a friend to many who loved him and they will miss him dearly. They will miss his humor and his dare devil antics. Just ask any of them, I’m sure they have a doozy of a story to tell.

Dave was definitely a one of a kind, broke the mold after this one, type of person. And he has created an everlasting memory, good or bad, for each and every person who has ever had the honor of meeting Dave. Unforgettable for sure.

Rest peacefully, Dave. Until we meet again “Oorah!” and may you FLY LIKE AN EAGLE!
