Dave Schirra, age 64, of Cottage Grove, moved on to Heaven on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Preceded in death by father, Joseph; and father-in-law, Edward Snyder. Survived by loving wife of 39 years, Jeannine; sons, Michael (Erin McGovern and son, Dylan) and Nicholas (Katie); grandson, Gavin; mother, Madelyn; brother, Thomas (Sinda); mother-in-law, Maureen Snyder; nieces; nephews; and many other extended family and friends.
Dave worked for Ramsey County Corrections for 41 years and had been an adult probation officer the last several years. He was on the Board of Directors for the Theresa Living Center for many years and in his free time he enjoyed hunting, muzzle loading, rendezvousing, and coaching youth football. He was also a proud member of AA for 16 years and made many wonderful friendships throughout his life. Above all, Dave was a passionate family man whom cherished his loved ones and dogs. He will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation 1-4 PM, Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016 and continues at 10 AM, Monday at church. Memorial Mass 11 AM, Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016.
