Darwin Trebesch

Darwin Trebesch, age 78 of Bloomington, formerly of Inver Grove Heights and Cottage Grove, passed away December 21, 2019.

Funeral 11:00 am, Monday, December 30, 2019 with visitation starting at 9:00 am at Bloomington Lutheran Church, 9350 Portland Ave. S., Bloomington.  Private interment Newport Cemetery.

Darwin Charles Trebesch was born January 17, 1941 in Mahnomen, Minnesota to August and Helen (Kuchynka) Trebesch and later graduated from Chaska High School in 1959.  Darwin was married to Shirley Schmieg on June 27, 1964 in St. Paul at Faith Lutheran Church and the couple moved to Cologne, MN for a short time before returning to St. Paul.  Through the years Darwin worked as a gas station attendant and was briefly employed at Red Owl.  He took a position with the Country Club Supermarket in Cottage Grove where he worked for 32 years, many of those years as the produce manager.

He enjoyed camping with his brothers, fishing and going on cruises to the Caribbean.  Faith was vitally important to Darwin and will be able to spend this Christmas with his Savior, Jesus.

Darwin is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; parents, August and Helen and sister Caroline Dorpinghaus and brothers Bernard and Sylvester.  He is survived by children Rene Foss, Rita Tresbesch and Roxanne (Mike) Cleary; two grandchildren, Joe and Megan Foss; brothers Gary (Donna), Doug (Mona) and Darrell as well as sister-in-law Lois Rae Trebesch and many loving nieces and nephews.
