Darryl Bunton

Darryl D. Bunton, age 87, of Cottage Grove, MN, our beloved father, grandpa, great grandpa and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

Darryl proudly served his country as a 20-year member of the US Army as well as the Army National Guard. He was also avid supporter of his beloved Minnesota Twins! He never missed a game, if he could help it.

Darryl is survived by his son, Rick (Janice) Bunton; daughter, Michele (Kerry) Petroske; daughter-in-law, Kris Bunton; grandchildren, Austin (Samantha) Dickson, Tyler Bunton, Casey Bunton, Rachel (Scott) Haffley, Shelby Bunton, Courtney Petroske, and Alissa Bunton; two great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marion Abraham, Jean Vorlicky, and Carol Vorlicky; many nieces and nephews; and many many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Bunton; son, Jeffery Bunton; granddaughter, Emily Dickson; and three brothers, Lyle Bunton, Bryce Bunton, and George Bunton.

A visitation will be at 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th Street S. Cottage Grove, MN). Visitation will also be 9:00 am Thursday, June 8, 2023, with a memorial service beginning at 10:00 am at Kok Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
