Darlene Schmidt

Darlene Schmidt, age 69 of Cottage Grove, died Sunday evening November 14, 2010 at the Woodbury Health Care Center in Woodbury.
Darlene was born June 13, 1941 in Saint Paul, the daughter of George & Teresa (Peck) Hamer. She was raised in Saint Paul and graduated from Harding High School. On October 15, 1960 she was united in marriage with Frederick William Schmidt. Darlene enjoyed playing 500 and bridge, as well as traveling, golfing and fishing. She will be remembered as a great loving mom who always saw the good in people. Darlene had served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Thomas Aquinas.
She is the beloved wife of Fred; loving mother of Barbara (Rod) Schoenfelder, Fred Jr. (Missy), Matty (Amy), Rick (Michelle); grandmother of Eric, Emma, Lauren, Michael, Leah, Matthew, John, Katie, Daniel, Carolynn; sister of Beverly (Joseph) Stodola, Patricia Conners, Robert (Kathy) Hamer; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Thursday at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 920 Holley, St. Paul Park. Gathering 5-9 PM Wednesday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Ave. St. Paul Park and 10-11 AM Thursday at church.
