Darlene Baker was born in Chicago, IL on 1/16/1930. She lived with her mother and Grand-mother in Chicago on South Halstad St. She met the love of her life, Jack Baker and they were married. They were married for 53 years. Cats were a big part of their lives. They loved and cared for multiple cats throughout their lives.
Darlene went back to school in 1970 to become an Elementary Teacher. She taught in several school districts in Columbia Heights, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Coon Rapids. She continued her education and obtained her Masters from the University of Minnesota. Jack and Darlene loved to travel. In her worldly travels, she visited five continents. When Darlene retired, they moved to Florida in 1993. After Jack passed away in 2002, Darlene moved back to Minnesota in 2003 to be close to her family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her sons Bill (Nancy) Baker and Matt Baker, grandchildren Steve Baker, Jeff (Raelene) Baker, Jackie (Scott) Eng and Roman Gorz, her great-grandchildren Aila, Taytum and Trevor.
