Daniel John Wilharber
68 of Woodbury formerly of Cottage Grove, died peacefully June 5, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Dan was born July 17, 1947 in St. Paul, MN to Albert & Oronell(Johnson)Wilharber. He grew up in West St. Paul, and graduated from Sibley High School in 1965. Shortly after high school he met Elizabeth "Betty" Linson, they married the next year at St. Luke's Catholic Church and moved to Cottage Grove in 1971. Dan worked for Brown and Bigelow for 32 years retiring in 2001. He had a passion for sports and enjoyed coaching both baseball & softball in Cottage Grove. Dan also liked collecting old radios and sports memorabilia.
He is preceded in death by father Al; brother Jim. Dan is survived by loving wife of 49 years Betty; children Dan Jr. (Gretchen), Carol (Kalman) Bundy, Lori Hausker; grandchildren Courtney, Austin, Lexi, Arielle, Anne, Matt, Camden; Mother Oronell; Sister Karen (Bob) Folkes; niece Katie (Alex) Cook; furry companion Max.
Mass of Christian Burial 11am Thursday, June 9 at The Church of St. Rita (8694 80th St. S. Cottage Grove) with visitation Wednesday 5-8 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S.) and one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. Memorials preferred.
