Daniel Minea

Daniel Minea, age 31 of Newport, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2017.

Visitation will be Monday, April 3, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove. On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at The Alley Church, 8944 Indahl Ave. S, Cottage Grove, there will be early visitation from 9-11 am followed by the funeral service.

Daniel Paul Minea was born July 17, 1985 to Mark and Lou Ann (Wald) Minea. He grew up in Cottage Grove and graduated from Park High School in 2004. Dan attended St. Paul College and was a member of Sheetmetal Workers' Local #10. He worked for NAC Mechanical and Electrical.

Dan enjoyed running, trap shooting, skiing, playing golf and spending time with his friends. As a drummer, he loved all kinds of music, but his favorite band was Metallica. Dan had an amazing personality who could lift the spirits of those around him. He was a best friend to many and had a way of making others feel special. Dan loved his family dearly and will be tremendously missed.

Dan is survived by his parents; sisters Laura (Brian) Abernathy and Diana (Karl) Dodge; niece Violet as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and those who called him friend. He is preceded in death by both of his maternal and paternal grandparents.
