Cynthia Schaffhausen

Cynthia “Cindy” Schaffhausen, age 55 of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2017.

Funeral will be 11 am, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Crossroads Church, 7955 Ivystone Ave. S, Cottage Grove. Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 -80th Street S., Cottage Grove and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, St. Paul Park.

Cynthia Rose (Rumpca) Schaffhausen was born June 23, 1962 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Adam and Leona (Kulesa) Rumpca. She grew up in Cottage Grove and graduated from Park High School in 1980. She worked in payroll for Dahleen Trucking in Newport for several years before she took a position as a student loan processor. Cindy enjoyed her job and keeping busy. Cindy met Dennis Schaffhausen in 1995 and they were united in marriage on August 16, 1997 in Stillwater.

She was an avid gardener and in recent years she really enjoyed painting a variety of scenery. Cindy loved being outside and was often times found feeding the squirrels and birds. She also enjoyed going on bike rides and going shopping.

Cynthia is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, Dennis; son Kyle Adam; siblings Renee (Scott) Gerry, Gary Rumpca, Steven “Porky” Rumpca, Sandra (Steven) Bruflodt; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her parents.
