Craig Young

Craig G Young 53 of Cottage Grove, died peacefully Feb. 26, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Craig was born April 23, 1962 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Lester & Helen (Birmingham) Young. He was the fourth of five children and grew up on St. Paul's East side. After graduating Harding High School in 1980 he attended the University of Minnesota, Crookston and Lakewood College graduating with a degree in Science. He worked for the USPS for 30+years gaining many wonderful friendships in those 30 years.
He married the love of his life Patty Vadder at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton in Hastings, Minnesota in 1997. They were blessed with two beautiful children. Craig had 4 passions in life; Family, his Faith, Genealogy and Catholic Boy Scouting.
He is survived by loving wife Patty; children Cullen and Cayley; siblings Mike (Cheryl), Dave (Deb), Julie (Carol Harlicker), Leslie (Jim) Schiltgen; step mother Joyce; step sister & brothers; special family Phyllis & Larry Volkman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents Lester & Helen; niece Amanda Schiltgen.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Wednesday, March 2 at The Church of St. Rita (8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove) with a visitation starting at 10am. Private Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial preferred to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
